Elite Energy brings Standard (Olympic) distance racing to the idyllic coastal location of Huskisson on Jervis Bay. Husky is now famous for hosting one of the southern hemisphere’s largest triathlon festivals and the Australian Long Course Championships.

 

A full program of racing will fill the streets and beach at Husky with Standard, Sprint, Enforcer & Enticer Triathlons.

Getting there

Race HQ is at White Sands Park, located on Hawke Street in Huskisson.

Directions from Sydney – Approximately 2.5 – 3 hours.

  • Take the Princes Highway past Wollongong to Nowra.
  • 14.5 km south of the Nowra Bridge, take the Jervis Bay turnoff on your left onto Jervis bay Road.
  • Drive for 7.5km and take the Huskisson turnoff on your left onto Huskisson Road.
  • Continue onto Tomerong Street
  • Take a slight right onto Sydney Street
  • Take the second left onto Owen Street, and you’ll find Race HQ on the corner, right on the water!

Directions from Canberra – Approximately 2.5hours 

Please note there are two options using the ‘back way’ from Canberra. Both include some dirt road and should not be attempted in heavy rains or following storms, due to the flooding of low-level crossings.

  • Option one: This route includes approximately five kilometres of dirt. Travel to Bungendore and then Tarago, continuing to follow signs to Nowra, Nerriga, Oallen and then onto Turpentine Road.
  • Option two: This route has about 30km of dirt. Travel directly to Braidwood, turning left at Braidwood road to Nerriga and then following this road for 40kms. Turn right onto Turpentine Road.
  • From Turpentine Road (both options): Follow the signs to Tomerong and Batemans Bay.
  • Turn right at the Princes Highway, then turn left to St Georges Basin and Tomerong after about two kilometres.
  • After about 200m, turn left to Tomerong.
  • At Tomerong, turn right to Huskisson.
  • Turn left and then right into Huskisson Road.
  • Continue onto Tomerong Street
  • Take a slight right onto Sydney Street
  • Take the second left onto Owen Street and look for the waterfront corner pub, Race HQ is in the park opposite

From Batemans Bay

  • From Batemans Bay, take the Princes Highway to Ulladulla and continue north towards Nowra.
  • 3.8 km north of the Bewong rest area, take the Tomerong/Jervis Bay turnoff to your right onto Island Point Rd.
  • Drive straight through all of the roundabouts until you reach the shops at Vincentia, then turn left at that roundabout onto Elizabeth Drive, heading towards Huskisson.
  • Drive over the bridge and take your third right onto Hawken Road.
  • Turn right onto Pine Forest Road.
  • Turn left onto Jervis Bay Road.
  • Drive for 7.5 km and turn left onto Huskisson Road.
  • Continue onto Tomerong Street.
  • Take a slight right onto Sydney Street.
  • Take the second left onto Owen Street.

Road Closures

For the safety of competitors, spectators and the general public, some road and lane closures/restrictions are required and these may cause some delays and/or restriction of travel and parking.

Elite Energy would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closures and restriction but appreciate your assistance.

CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS
On Sunday, the 22nd November 2015, Huskisson will host the ‘Tri Husky I’ Triathlon Festival. The Festival is being organised by Elite Energy Pty Ltd, includes four (4) triathlons, and will run from 7:00am – 4:30pm. This event is approved and supported by Shoalhaven City Council.

Road Closures and Restrictions – Sunday 22nd November 2015
Hawke St (From Bowen St to Owen St) Total Closure – 6:00am to 4:00pm
Owen St (From Hawke St to Sydney) Total Closure – 6:00am to 4:00pm
Sydney St & Tomerong St (From Owen St to Woollamia Rd) Total Closure – 6:30am to 4:00pm
Huskisson Rd (From the Tip Access Rd to Woollamia Rd) Half road closure (eastbound – no access to Huskisson. Access to Tip, Bowling Club & limited access to Woollamia ) – 6:30am to 4:00pm
Woollamia Rd (From Tomerong St to Jervis Bay Rd) Total Closure – 6:30am to 4:00pm (limited access for residents only (9:45 – 10:30am approx & 11:45am – 1:00pm approx)).
Travel to Huskisson, during the road closure times, will only be possible via Jervis Bay Rd then The Wool Rd and Elizabeth Dr, Vincentia.

There will also be a large number of runners on the Huskisson – Vincentia foot/cycle path and caution should be used if using the path.
