There has been a massive increased demand for the Standard Distance Triathlon (previously know as Olympic). With the increasing exposure through the ITU race series and a generally growing base of athletes we have seen races sell out in hours.


swim 1.5km

The swim leg will be held in the Shoalhaven River with a deep water start. The exit to transition will be adjacent to the sailing club.


bike 40km

The cycle leg will be two laps of a flat, out and back course. From the transition area (at the western end of Riverview Rd) competitors will head east to Numbaa via Terara along Riverview Rd, Ferry Ln, Terara Rd, Comerong Island Rd and then right onto Jindy Andy Ln. Just past Smiths Ln on Jindy Andy Ln will be the first turnaround point. At this point, competitors will turn around and head back along the same route until they reach the next turnaround point just prior to the transition area where they will turnaround and complete their second lap, as per the first lap. On completion of the second lap they will ride to the dismount area, dismount and then head into transition.


run 10km

The run course is a two lap, and mostly flat course. From transition competitors will head west along the path, under and then onto the new Nowra bridge. At the northern end of the bridge competitors will continue up the path towards the first turnaround point. At this point competitors turnaround and return to the southern end of Nowra bridge via the same route. At the southern end of the bridge, competitors swing right then left onto the foot path and run past the Nowra Pool and Rowing Club for a lap around Paringa Park. Then continuing back along the same path, under the bridge, keeping left along the rivers edge, past the Sailing club and then competitors will veer off the path for a short period as they pass the finish line. Competitors will be guided back onto and continue along the eastern end of the path and then right onto Ferry Lane to the next turnaround point just prior to the Riverview Rd intersection. They then do a U turn and head back along the same route towards the finish line, where they will again be guided around the finish line for the completion of the first of two (2) laps. The second lap is as per the first lap except that on completion of their second lap they will cross the finish line. See course map for detail.

  • All our Events are governed by Triathlon Australia Policy and Rules. Full details can be accessed as follows:
  • The Competitor Categories are as follows:
    • 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+| Individual Male & Female competitors
    • Male, Female & Mixed teams, Clydesdales (Males 100kg+) & Athenas (Females 80kg+) will be recognised on the podium and then we have ‘Race Ya Mate’ which has no podium prizes.
    • Age determination is as of 31st December 2018
    • MINIMUM AGE – Individual – 15 years at 31st December 2018
    • MINIMUM AGE – team member (one leg of team) – 14 years at 31st December 2018. There is NO leeway on this. 
  • Request for withdrawal must be sent via email to our Athlete Services
  • Refer to the Refund & Transfer Policy for details
On Event Day
  • Collection of your Registration pack is compulsory for all individuals Entrants and only 1 representative from a team.
  • These can be collected from the Registration Marquee
  • Please check the Event Schedule for registration and transition opening times
  • Please bring Personal ID, TA membership if applicable
  • Junior athletes please bring your parent or guardian along with you
Presentation & Prizes
  • Will be held at the Riverview Road Reserve

  • Can be accessed via the Results link at the top of the page.
  • Results will be uploaded as soon as possible after the completion of the event.
