What better place is there for the Berrinba Runners to take on an ultra than at the Australian Alpine Ascent through Kosciusko National Park.
Berrinba Runners isn’t a formal Running club, we like to call ourselves a running community. We are a group of people who have come together for the love of a challenge, and the challenge in 2019 is to conquer Kosciusko.
Berrinba Runners is based in the Berrinba Wetlands, which is in Logan south of Brisbane. The group formed at around the same time as the Berrinba parkrun was established in 2014. Since then the group has grown to several hundred members.
Most of the team events Berrinba Runners do are based around running, but the lure of an ultra through Kosciusko was too much for this group, and it wasn’t long before the idea of taking a team to the ultra became a reality.
Team green will be there in full force consisting of Belinda Shannon, Adam Shannon, Willie August, Tris August, Bill Hughes, Donna Hughes, Amanda Peers, Johnny Mackellar, Cahn Madigan, Narelle Rodiger, Bobbee Sutton, John Sutton, Lisa Boulton, John Bugeja and Larissa Peddell.
Some of these team members took on the ring of fire in New Zealand in 2018 so they are looking forward to this next challenge.
