Super Sprint

The Super Sprint distance is one of our most popular distances to race. This is the “can do” triathlon. Race in a supportive atmosphere amongst other like-minded people and become part of the thrill and excitement of triathlon racing whilst gaining the absolute joy and pride that comes with accomplishing a personal goal.

Flippers will be permitted for this event, but medals will not be awarded to these entrants.

swim 200m

The swim leg will consist of a swim to be held in the Shoalhaven River with a deep-water start, entering across from the Nowra Aquatic Centre on Scenic Drive.
The course will be a straight line and the exit to transition will be adjacent to the sailing club.

bike

bike 7.5km

The cycle leg will be a flat, out and back course.
From the transition area competitors will head east to Numbaa via Terara along Riverview Road, Ferry Lane, Terara Road and Comerong Island Road to the turnaround point.
At this point, competitors will turn around and head back along the same route to the transition area where they will ride to the dismount area, dismount and then head into transition.

run

run 2km

The run course is a mostly flat course. From transition competitors will head west along the path, under and then onto the new Nowra bridge. At the northern end of the bridge will be the first turnaround point. At this point competitors turn around and return to the southern end of Nowra bridge via the same route. At the southern end of the bridge, competitors swing right then back along the same path, under the bridge, keeping left along the rivers edge, past the Sailing club and then competitor will veer off the path for a short period as they pass the finish line. Competitors will be guided back onto and continue east for a short distance to the next turnaround point, where they will do a U turn and then run to the finish line.

  • The Competitor Categories are as follows:
  • 12-13, 14-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+| Individual Male & Female competitors
  • Male, Female & Mixed teams, Clydesdales (Males 100kg+) & Athenas (Females 80kg+) will be recognised on the podium and then we have ‘Race Ya Mate’ which has no podium prizes.
  • Age determination is as of 31st December 2018
  • MINIMUM AGE – Individual – 12 years at 31st December 2018
  • MINIMUM AGE – team member (one leg of team) – 10 years at 31st December 2018. There is NO leeway on this.

On Event Day
  • Collection of your Registration pack is compulsory for all individuals Entrants and only 1 representative from a team.
  • These can be collected from the Registration Marquee

  • Please bring Personal ID, TA membership if applicable
  • Junior athletes please bring your parent or guardian along with you
