Standard (ITU World Qualifying Race)

Racing in the nation’s capital, the 2020 Standard distance triathlon is an Age Group ITU World Championship Qualifying Race. Your finishing position will determine the number of selection points that you receive giving you points to represent Australia at Edmonton.

Complete the 5km run, 40km ride and 10km run right in the heart of the nation’s capital.

a swim in the sheltered waters of Lake Burley Griffin


bike 40km

A flat fast four lap course along the closed roads of Parkes Way.


run 10km

A scenic flat run 2 lap course with views of Parliament House and Kings Park.

  • This Event is part of the triSeries
  • All our Events are governed by Triathlon Australia Policy and Rules. Full details can be accessed as follows:
  • The Competitor Categories are as follows:
    • 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+| Individual Male & Female competitors
    • Male, Female & Mixed teams, Clydesdale (Males 100kg+) & Athenas (Females 80kg+) will be recognised on the podium and then we have ‘Race Ya Mate’ which has no podium prizes
    • age group age determination date is 31st December 2019.
  • MINIMUM AGE – Individual – 15 years at 31st December 2019
  • MINIMUM AGE – team member (one leg of team) – 14 years at 31st December 2019. There is NO leeway on this.

On Event Day
  • Collection of your Registration pack is compulsory for all individuals Entrants and only 1 representative from a team.
  • These can be collected from the Registration Marquee
